Middle Years

Introduction
The Middle Years at NBCS offers a smooth transition into the Secondary School through a personalised pastoral care system and engaging learning activities across all the Key Learning Areas. Through enquiry based learning students are equipped for lifelong learning, the development of strong study skills and preparation for entering the Senior Years with confidence.
Key strategies in the Middle Years:
- Authentic Christian Education Programs
- AIM extension class in Years 7 & 8
- Care Groups – teacher advocate for all students in small groups
- Home Class Program in Years 7 & 8
- Single sex classes – in some classes
- Technology-rich learning environments
- Year 7 & 8 Global Learning Village – an innovative, technology-rich learning environment
- Year 7 & 8 Matrix Integrated Program
- Year 9/10 Elective Program – providing an extensive choice of subjects arranged in a vertical system allowing for double the number of courses offered
Students in the Middle Years at NBCS are given the opportunity to be involved in a variety of extra and co-curricular activities, helping them to gain strong connections with the school community and confidence in themselves. Students are encouraged to participate in Christian Ministry, Sport, Music, Creative Arts, Technology and Leadership opportunities.
