Indigenous Immersion
To develop students' understanding and appreciation of First Nations cultures, connection to Country and traditional practices. Students will learn about Kuku Yalanji and Mbabaram culture through authentic experiences with Traditional Owners. The program also explores environmental sustainability, biodiversity, cultural heritage and land use, with links to Humanities, Geography, Science and the Arts.

Cost: $2,600
Location:
Far North Queensland, including Mossman Gorge, the Daintree Rainforest and Atherton Highlands. Students will participate in an overnight cultural camping experience on Mbabaram Country.
Accommodation:
Students will participate in an overnight cultural camping experience on Mbabaram Country.
Activities:
Students will participate in Welcome to Country, Indigenous art, rainforest walks, traditional hunting and gathering, spear throwing, bush tucker, medicinal plant activities and cultural experiences with Indigenous guides and Elders. Students will also take part in a land-use debate, overnight cultural camping experience and cultural reef trip. No specialist skills are required; students need to participate safely, respectfully and cooperatively.
