Zone Basketball Gala Day

Last Tuesday NBCS sent four teams to compete in the Zone Basketball Gala Day. This was the first gala day we have attended in months and the players were enthusiastic and excited to be competing against Covenant CS, OFGS and PHCS. 

Our teams played incredibly well across all games throughout the day. The OPEN Boys and 15&U Girls made it into the grand final, with each game being extremely close. The girls were undefeated coming into the final and were trailing by 12 points at half time. They fought back to come within 2 points, but OFGS came out on top. The OPEN Boys were leading up until the last few minutes of the first half against PHCS, despite a determined effort they lost in a close finish. 

The OPEN Girls started off strong with a defeat over Covenant CS, giving it their all over the course of the day. The 15&U boys are to be commended for their determination in each game, particularly as they were often competing against teams double their size! 

Thank you to our Year 12 players Lachlan Schuetrumpf and Annie Walker, who have been an integral part of these teams over the years.
