NBCS Little Learners is a three-day Pre-K early learning program for four- and five-year-olds at Northern Beaches Christian School.
At NBCS ‘Little Learners’ our nurturing, play-based environment builds confidence, sparks curiosity, and teaches compassion as children explore their world and establish a firm foundation for learning. Introducing our Little Learners teachers and specialists.
Our dedicated Pre-K teacher, Hayley Jacobs, is an experienced preschool, infants and primary teacher. A focus of her Bachelor of Education (Birth to Twelve) was child development and learning, particularly in the transition from preschool to Kindergarten and Infants.
Little Learners at NBCS benefit from specialist curriculum teachers in Art, Music, Dance, Drama, PE and French.
Bush Kindy Adventures
One day per week, as weather permits, our class steps into our neighbouring Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Away from technology, we immerse ourselves in nature and discover the wonders of God’s creation through hands-on exploration and play.

Monday to Wednesday in School terms
8.45am – 3.05pm
The program allows children to make the most of focused learning when they’re fresh at the beginning of the week and then enjoy restful downtime at home with family.
Little Learners wear the comfortable, easy-care NBCS sports uniform, with a Little Learners hat.
Learning in Pre-K
Little Learners curriculum blends the best of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) with the NSW Early Stage 1 Curriculum, providing a strong foundation for lifelong learning, and school readiness.
Through play-based exploration and carefully guided activities, your child will be introduced to literacy and numeracy concepts while fostering a deep sense of belonging, identity and wellbeing.
NBCS Little Learners will enjoy:
Specialty Classes: your child will take part in weekly lessons in French, Physical Education, Art, Music, Dance and Drama, taught by passionate and professional subject specialists from our Kindy to Year 6 teaching team.
URSTRONG Wellbeing Program: using this whole school wellbeing program, we empower our Little Learners with the skills to build strong friendships based on trust and respect, and help them grow in empathy.
Holistic development: we nurture each child’s spiritual, emotional and academic growth, developing a love for learning while understanding their identity in God’s world. Each week our Little Learners will be part of our Infants Chapel and will participate in Christian Studies lessons.

How many days is the Pre-K Little Learners program at NBCS?
NBCS Little Learners is a 3-day Pre-K program. Children make the most of learning at the beginning of the week and can relax at the end of the week at home.
What are the hours for the Pre-K Little Learners program at NBCS?
NBCS Little Learners takes place from Monday to Wednesday, 8:45 to 3:05, during the NBCS school term.
Can my four year old go to the Pre-K Little Learners program at NBCS?
The Pre-K Little Learners program at NBCS is for four and five year olds, or children in the year before Kindergarten.
What are the fees and costs for the Pre-K Little Learners program at NBCS?
Fees for the 3-day Pre-K Little Learners program at NBCS will be $12,000 in 2026. The Application Fee of $350 applies however the Enrolment Fee of $1000 is waived for 2026 starters. Does the Pre-K Little Learners program at NBCS have a uniform?
Yes. Little Learners wear the comfortable, easy-wear NBCS sports uniform (branded navy sports shirt and shorts) and have their own Little Learners hat.

The Little Learners Pre-K program combines the best of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) with the NSW Early Stage 1 Curriculum, with play-based exploration and carefully guided activities.

No. Our three-day program from Monday to Wednesday allows children to make the most of learning with enough time to rest and recharge.
Where is the Pre-K Little Learners program at NBCS?
Little Learners takes place on the NBCS School campus, in an early education classroom. The children make the most of whole school facilities while being separated enough to feel safe and secure.
How many children are in a class at the Pre-K Little Learners program at NBCS?
NBCS Pre-K will accommodate up to 20 children in the Little Learners class.
Is the Pre-K Little Learners program at NBCS different from preschool?
Yes. It includes the best parts of a preschool program with Early Stage 1 curriculum, giving your child a stronger foundation for starting kindy.
Is the Pre-K Little Learners program at NBCS better than preschool?
Yes. Your child will be more equipped with skills that benefit them for starting school. They also become familiar with the NBCS teachers and campus.
Is the Pre-K Little Learners program at NBCS religious?
Children at Little Learners take part in weekly infants Chapel and Christian studies lessons at Northern Beaches Christian School.
Can my child go to the Pre-K Little Learners program at NBCS on the bus?
No. Little Learners children will need to be dropped off and picked up by parents and/or carers.
How far is the trip to the Pre-K Little Learners program at NBCS?
NBCS and Little Learners is an easy drive from major hubs in Sydney’s Northern Beaches and Upper North Shore. NBCS is 15 minutes drive from Mona Vale, 12 minutes drive from Frenchs Forest, 25 minutes drive from Chatswood, 18 minutes drive from Pymble and 12 minutes drive from St Ives.
How do I know if my child is ready for Kindy?
It’s important to look at the development of the whole child – including physical, cognitive, language, social and emotional areas, when you consider if a child is ready for Kindergarten. The purpose of the NBCS Little Learners Pre-K program is to prepare children for school.
What bush and nature activities will NBCS Pre-K Little Learners do?
Little Learners will engage in age-appropriate bush walking, as well as observing and learning about animals and nature, and natural arts, crafts and construction.
