A place to belong, grow and flourish
It is easy to be acutely aware of the faults of others and at the same time, entirely blind to our own. A gift from a colleague, I am really enjoying Baillie’s book, and the opportunity to stop and pray, reminded of God’s character and my ongoing need for grace and growth.
Together is better in learning
Good teachers possess a capacity for connectedness. They are able to weave a complex web of connections among themselves, their subjects and their students so that students can learn to weave a world for themselves.
Character and opportunity
Building character is a key element of the work we do in schools. The best definition of character I have come across is this: it’s who we are when no one’s looking.
Education – it’s about people
It is a privilege to be involved in education. School leadership combines my three great loves – God, education and people. It has been a rare privilege to combine these elements of my passion at the heart of my vocation.
Life to the full, Learning to the full
I have always subscribed to the view that education is about so much more than preparing students for a job. It is about preparing students for life.
