The event brought together students, staff, board members, founding families, project partners, community leaders, and members of the O’Sullivan family. Guests enjoyed a musical performance, ribbon-cutting ceremony, prayer of dedication, and guided tours of the Centre.
In his address, NBCS Board Chair Eric Bernard encouraged the attending Year 5-8 students to embrace gratitude – for their education, teachers, families, peers, and the opportunities this new learning space provides. Principal Tim Watson reflected on the remarkable origins of NBCS, sharing how a desire to positively influence the lives of young people inspired Pastor Paul and Tineke O’Sullivan and other founding families to establish a Christian school on the Northern Beaches. He highlighted the compassion, faith, and commitment that remain at the heart of the school today.
Named in honour of the O’Sullivan family, the Science Centre stands as a lasting reminder of their legacy and a place where future generations of students will learn and grow. We give thanks to all who contributed to making this vision a reality and look forward to seeing the impact this exceptional facility will have on learning for years to come.
